Philosophy

Philosophy

Through the integration of fitness and sports medicine I have developed a philosophy and protocol that is unlike any other. When I started my career not many professionals were combining the two fields and many naysayers encouraged me to focus on one. That was all the motivation I needed. Now my understanding body mechanics, movement patterns, common injuries and human performance has given me a unique viewpoint in both fields.  It has also enabled me to push fitness to the next level as well as significantly reduce injury frequency and duration. Nothing is more satisfying than teaching a power lifter about the bio mechanics of the shoulder, making some slight adjustments to technique, adding in some preventative rehabilitation exercises and watching their bench press numbers skyrocket. Conversely, the distance runner with ITB syndrome told by orthopedists, chiropractors and physical therapists that she could never run again who, after incorporating a well-rounded blended fitness and rehabilitation program runs 30 miles a week pain free. Everything has become so specializes in today’s society and we have been so trained to prescribe learned protocol no one thinks outside the box. By utilizing my knowledge of the body, asking some pointed questions and observing the athlete or client’s movements allows me to customizing a program and attain results quickly and easily.
